When this exterior badge came across my desk I had to stop and take a second look. It is an example of how a larger nameplate can become an elegant show piece for a brand.
Visual Dimension
The decoration used to create this aluminum nameplate involves a wide engine stripe coupled with high gloss black enhanced with a variable texture pattern. The mechanical finish creates movement and depth while the 3D texture adds interest to the background. A basic stamping tool is used to cut the part.
Even though this is a flat nameplate, there is great visual dimension which results from the decorating processes and natural highs and lows of the aluminum material. It certainly demands attention and elevates the brand.
Authentic Metal Finish
Engine stripe has seen renewed interest as it is an authentic metal finish taking advantage of the reflective quality of the aluminum. Other mechanical finishes available to be combined with engine stripe are brush, spin and engine turn.
