This is exactly what happened when Mechanical Design Engineers at Bausch and Lomb reached out for assistance to create a front panel set with high perceived value for a piece of surgical equipment. The aluminum panel set consists of four pieces decorated with satin brushed aluminum to withstand surgical solutions and laboratory sterile environments. Embossed graphics draw attention to the brand and logo for the bottom piece. All pieces have a mating plastic backer which bonds to the aluminum via heat activated adhesive as well as formed and crimped over edged to ensure a tight vibration-free assembly.
Several conversations and trials took place to reach the final design. The result is an attractive set of aluminum trim which blends in with the product housing for a high end look. The formed and crimped over edge create a nice smooth transition between the aluminum panels and the rest of the housing. It is a premium look for a premium product.
