### solution

The detail in the Chevrolet logo is created with a combination of a transparent gold tint of color and an [embossed texture](https://www.norcorp.com/nameplate-blog/bid/18839/Embossed-Aluminum-Nameplate-for-Product-Identification). Since the badge is positioned [under the hood](https://www.norcorp.com/nameplate-blog/bid/112948/Considerations-in-Under-the-Hood-Badge-Design), it was critical to the success of the program that the part also stand up to the harsh environment which includes high temperatures and oil. The printed aluminum is protected with a clear topcoat. The nameplate is applied with an open cell foam adhesive which facilitates application to the uneven surface of the engine.
