Northern Engraving Corporation, Sparta, Wisconsin today announced it is closing its Luxco Division tool shop. Luxco provides tooling build and maintenance activities for the automotive and major appliance divisions of Northern Engraving. This closure is a direct result of significant, unanticipated decreases in sales levels and new tooling orders in the U.S automotive and appliance industries.
The decision to close the Luxco Division was a difficult but necessary action to ensure sustainability for the corporation as it continues to react and adjust to the current economic conditions and significantly changing business environment.
We have been fortunate to have a highly-skilled, dedicated, and flexible workforce at Luxco. Northern Engraving will be assisting the affected workers with outplacement services and support.
Operations at the Luxco Division are expected to be phased out over the next several months. The closing will not result in any interruption in services to the Company's customers.
