Lawrence Automotive Completes Acquisition of Northern Engraving

Lawrence Automotive is an established full service automotive supplier of real wood and other premium interior trim components. With it’s origins in Nottingham dating back to 1875, we currently have regional representation in the UK, USA, Central America and France and manufacturing sites in the UK and China. On December 31, 2011 Lawrence Automotive acquired 100% of the stock in Northern Engraving Corporation and Northern Automotive Systems Limited.
Founded in 1908, Northern Engraving is headquartered in Sparta, Wisconsin, USA, with a subsidiary (Northern Automotive Systems) in Gilwern, Wales, UK, and sales offices worldwide. A recognized leader in the interior automotive trim and product identification industries, Northern Engraving’s customer base includes premier automotive appliance, and consumer brands. The company began as a manufacturer of dials to the automotive industry. Today, it has developed advanced solutions for decorating and forming metal and plastic substrates. Product offerings in the automotive industry in addition to interior trim including gauges, dials and buttons. Product identification offerings include metal and plastic nameplates, labels, badges, emblems and appliques for industries ranging from consumer electronics and sporting goods to cosmetics and medical equipment.
Lawrence is very excited at having completed its acquisition of Northern Engraving Corporation in the US and Northern Automotive Systems in the UK. The acquisition forms part of Lawrence’s efforts to increase product offering in the automotive industry while expanding into the appliance and product identification industries. The integration of the two companies provides automotive and industrial OEMs with a diversity of decorated product options. With the economy in some sectors showing signs of improvement we look forward to continuing production from these historic and important manufacturing sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and South Wales. This is an important opportunity to continue the business in the US and UK for real aluminium component manufacture and for us to grow our global automotive, appliance and nameplate customer base.
Lawrence is pleased and proud to announce that this acquisition coincides with several exciting new launches from the Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Wales sites during 2012. This follows Lawrence’s commitment to invest in the technology required to manufacture these components.
The addition of Northern Engraving to the wide range of resources and capabilities within the Lawrence Automotive family of companies ensures an ability to deliver greater value to customers for both companies as well as providing exciting new products for the future.
