Waste and Water Management Technician Overall Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Regional Environmental, Health & Safety Manager, North America the Waste and Water Management Technician will assist with the organization’s overall water and waste regulatory requirements as well as supporting the overall Environmental Management System registers to ISO 14001 standard.
Waste and Water Management Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review water discharge analysis for various locations and summits water and sewer billing
- Inputs data for water and waste
- Manages and conducts remediation program and sampling
- Supports RO systems
- Analyzes test lab water samples, prepares and ships water sample coolers
- Manages waste shipments
- Prepares chain of custody paperwork
- Oversees drum loading for waste shipments
- Reviews SPCC and SWPP activities
- Assists with waste stream characterization
- Prepares and submits reports (i.e. water discharge, SPCC plans, stormwater certifications, etc.)
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Waste and Water Management Technician Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience with water and waste management responsibilities in an ISO certified manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of remediation requirements and responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to process and analyze data
- Strong mathematical ability and basic knowledge of chemistry
- Experience with waste and water reporting and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet project deadlines
- High level of initiative, with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
