Creative Designer Overall Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Design Manager, the Creative Designer is responsible for developing new artwork, products and processes to meet customer and market demands while maintaining requirements for quality, cost and delivery timing.
Creative Designer Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities
- Meets with external customers to determine their needs, desires and future trends
- Researches and develops metal finishes based on current trends and industry needs
- Develops concept drawings for internal and external customers illustrating design options
- Leads the development of design standards books, display boards, and marketing presentations
- Produces samples of new artwork, materials and presents to customers
- Assigns tasks to prototype technicians to support customer timing, preparing and releasing design work orders as needed
- Develops new surface and finish options to meet customer needs and market trends
- Attends industry and customer presentations, exhibitions and trade shows to determine future trends
- Provides support to product development, program management and sales during quoting process and program launch phases
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Creative Designer Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree required
- Creative, innovative, and experienced in graphic design with ability to conceptualize, design and produce graphics
- Advanced graphic design skills, including print and web, with a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Web design experience and the ability to process image files
- Project Management Skills
- Ability to travel as required (<25%)
