Cost Estimator Overall Purpose of Position
The Cost Estimator is responsible for organizing the cost estimation process and analyzing cost data with the cost model.
Cost Estimator Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze the cost of BOM, raw materials, process and tooling according to engineering data
- Provide the business quotations that will be submitted to our OEM customers through our Key Account Managers
- Establish and improve the oversee cost model and database
- Regional responsibility to build cost model and member of cost benchmarking
- Analyze cost breakdowns from supplier quotes and understand all cost influent factors
- Automotive mechanical design and/or BOM, manufacturing process
- Financial knowledge and skills
- Work with Engineering & Procurement teams during the new business quoting phase to establish reference cost targets
- Develop close technical relationships with suppliers to identify best cost solutions, including emerging technologies that provide cost improvements

Cost Estimator Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with MS Excel, Power BI or related software
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Engineering, a plus
