Sparta, WI Manufacturing Plant Employee Engagement Team

Sparta’s Employee Engagement Team (EET) has been named and is in process of setting up regular meetings. Their mission is “To create and maintain a work environment that contributes positively to employee morale and wellness by developing and implementing internal programs and events for Northern Engraving employees, as well as opportunities to engage with and support the communities where Northern Engraving facilities are located.”

This Engagement Team has four focus areas: Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, Production, and Human Resources. Each area has a lead team member who drives engagement and helps process employee suggestions.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN SAFETY

The engagement team held a Kaizen event to address the haphazard and unsafe stacking of the slant back racks. The result was designation of specific stack areas and a standardized method for stacking.
