Network Administrator Overall Purpose of Position

Reporting to the North American Director of Information Technology, the Network Administrator will maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network for our facilities in the U.S. and Mexico. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment to ensure seamless operations.

Network Administrator Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade in-house servers
  • Manage and maintain Citrix environments
  • Manage and maintain VMware environment
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
  • Ensure all necessary updates are performed on a timely basis
  • Support and administer third-party applications
  • Ensure seamless connectivity and high level of security
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weakness
  • Establish user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Resolve problems reported by end users
  • Define network policies and procedures
  • Specify system requirements and design solutions
  • Research and recommend server system administration
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Network Administrator Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a network administrator role
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Network+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certifications are a plus
  • Hands on experience with networking, routing, and switching
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices of management, control and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Working experience with firewalls, internet VPNs, remote implementation, troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery methodologies and software
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work assignments, multitask and meet project deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
  • On-call availability on nights, weekends and holidays as needed
