Billie Theobald, our guest blogger this week, chose an aluminum appliqué which embodies elegance within the cosmetic packaging industry. It is a favorite piece for visitors to our Product Display Room and always invites a second look.
I’ve had the honor of working with Estee Lauder to assist in package design for many of their products. The original BEAUTIFUL appliqué was designed before me but is one that inspired me to push to learn as much as possible about our capabilities. I remember this product setting on my mom’s dresser and the delicate aroma from the powder when she applied before a special evening out for dinner. The appliqué is so delicate with the soft pink embossed lines against the gold brand and border. Pairing embossed aluminum with the dome (Norlens) made the brand look as if it was floating within the lens. Many good memories of my mother are tied to the BEAUTIFUL brand. It’s inspiring to work for a company tied to so many great brand designs.
