Test Lab Technician Overall Purpose of Position

The Test Lab Technician is responsible for reading and interpreting customer test specifications and ensuring accurate testing and reporting of customer specific required testing. 

Test Lab Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Maintains testing schedules and ensures product testing is performed in a timely manner prior to deadlines
• Manages customer specific testing specifications
• Performs initial chemical and life cycle testing of products for customer approval process including annual verifications, analysis and distribution of results
• Performs incoming product verifications
• Performs initial and ongoing testing per the Incoming Control Plan for all Company facilities
• Prepares accurate laboratory reports and keeps accurate laboratory records
• Supports product development and Quality with projects as necessary, i.e. product testing, data management, etc. 
• Calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment
• Develops budget for laboratory supplies and maintains control of lab costs
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

Test Lab Technician Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic laboratory principles, testing methods and techniques
• Ability to operate and program testing equipment
• Ability to follow written testing procedures/specifications
• Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge of chemical handling, SDS's and laboratory safety procedures
• Efficient organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple processes and priorities effectively
• Ability to navigate competing priorities both internal and external to the business
• Ability to quickly assess assigned task requirements, identify potential challenges, and communicate effectively in order to expedite the successful execution of assigned work
• Ability to work independently with adequate direction
• Desire to work in a team oriented environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills
