Electronic Technician Overall Purpose of Position

The Electronic Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repairing and programming of mechanical, electrical, and electronic manufacturing machinery and associated equipment 

Electronic Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Program PLC's, Robots, Vision systems and other machine controllers
  • Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems to determine route cause
  • Performs required repairs to return machinery to an operational state
  • Operates DVMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies and other necessary test equipment
  • Operates hand tools and small power tools and understands their use and function
  • Create electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Possess effective communication skills
  • Write manuals and train personnel on equipment operation
  • Ability to work individually and as a team player
  • Design and build electrical panels
  • Interface with electrical components suppliers and place and track orders

Electronic Technician Skills and Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electronics from an accredited school or equivalent experience
  • Possess strong troubleshooting (to component level) and problem solving skills
  • Must have experience using DVMs, soldering irons, hand tools
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Ability to Program PLC's, Robots, Vision systems and machine controllers
  • Willingness to learn and keep up with current technologies
